Privacy Policy
for WidgetWeaver
Effective date: 5 February 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how WidgetWeaver (“the App”) handles information. The App is published by WidgetWeaver (“we”, “us”).
Summary
- We do not require an account.
- We do not run our own servers for the App.
- Widget snapshot data is stored on your device and shared locally with widgets via an App Group.
- Purchases are processed by Apple’s App Store; we don’t receive your card details.
- Crash diagnostics may be shared by Apple if you opt in at the OS level; these are anonymised.
What the App does on your device
- App Group. The App uses an App Group (for example
group.com.conornolan.widgetweaver) to share minimal cached state between the app and its widgets on your device. This does not transmit data to us. - Photos. If you use photo-based templates, you can grant Photo Library access. Photos are used to generate widget-safe renders and are stored locally.
- Reminders and Calendar. If you enable these templates, you can grant access so the App can create an on-device snapshot for widget rendering. Some widgets may offer actions using Apple’s frameworks (for example completing a reminder).
- Health (Steps/Activity). If you enable steps or activity templates, you can grant Health access so values can be rendered in widgets. Health data stays on-device.
- Weather. Weather updates (if enabled) use Apple’s WeatherKit. The App stores a compact local snapshot for widget rendering.
- Location. Location is used only if you explicitly choose a “Use Current Location” option. Otherwise, a manually chosen location can be used where supported.
Information we don’t collect
We don’t collect your name, email, contacts, precise location, identifiers for tracking, or the contents of your widget designs. The App is intended to operate without advertising.
Purchases
If the App offers in-app purchases or subscriptions, they are implemented with StoreKit. Apple processes payment; we receive transaction status and entitlement information only, used to unlock features you’ve bought.
Crash reports and diagnostics
If you enable “Share with App Developers” in iOS, Apple may provide anonymised crash logs so we can improve stability. We cannot identify you from these logs.
Your choices
- Permissions can be changed in iOS Settings (Photos, Reminders, Calendar, Location, Health).
- Delete local data by deleting the App from your device.
